Do you Trust your Intuition?
Jul 30, 2020How well do you trust your intuition, instincts or simply go with what you actually feel like doing compared to what you may think is a better use of your time, or whatever other reasoning your mind may use to have you do something else? (Perhaps something you told someone you would do and now don’t feel like doing, but you don’t want to disappoint?) Yesterday, I was eating lunch and saw a tree company truck pull up to a neighbor’s house to cut down a tree. While it’s always sad to lose a tree, it can be fun to watch the process of a big tree being cut down. I was eager for a break from the monotony of being at home. I thought I might as well bring my camera, and headed for the neighbor’s house to watch from a safe distance.
I arrived over there, and noticed a few rain drops on the way, but nothing that would have deterred me if I was really interested. I got there, and saw it was just a little tree they were cutting down, and there wasn’t much to see. It was also in the back yard, and they weren’t neighbors I knew well.
I still had plenty to do at home, so I headed back. I halfway wondered if I was missing out on something by not staying there to explore further, but decided I’d rather go home. No sooner had I arrived inside my house, when the sky opened suddenly into a downpour. We’re talking buckets! While I’m pretty good at reading the sky for when a rain storm will start, I wasn’t expecting that at all, based on the few raindrops I saw. And it wasn’t just rain, but hail! Most hail I have seen comes later, but this was all right away.
And I realized that if I’d stayed to take pictures, I would have been caught in that with my camera! Which would not have been good. I thought that was interesting timing!
