TAO

TAO is an acronym coaches trained by Martha Beck use to refer to a practice of being Transparent, Authentic and Open, as a coach and in life. It also references the Tao Te Ching and Taoism that it deeply respects and is inspired by.

My journey to begin coaching and build a coaching business has been very much tied with my journey to being Transparent, Open and Authentic. It's not that I haven't been honest, but If you are someone who has been used to people-pleasing, putting others first and being who others expect you to be rather than who you truly are- and you guessed it- that's been me, it can be a challenge and a journey to be comfortable sharing yourself and your feelings Transparently, Openly and Authentically.

And I showed up here today to share why I haven't posted here in awhile, and that word came into my head, and then it felt important to explain what that means.  :)  A slight tangent, but a good one nonetheless...

It’s not that I haven’t been actively working on my business or posting elsewhere, but I’ve been so busy doing so, I haven’t posted here as much.

Since Helene and the election, I have been reevaluating what I’m doing here, and whether I still felt called to be a life-coach.

It is quite a journey to go from being an Adjunct Community College instructor on the Higher Education track to starting and running a business as a soul-led entrepreneur, but a journey I am still passionate about staying on.

And I feel more passionate than ever about my call to serve women who feel unfulfilled and know there is more for them out there.

If you have ever felt like your life isn’t what you hoped it would be, or were even taught to expect it to be, then I am here for you!

If you feel stuck in circumstances that are less than satisfying and don’t know what to do about it, I am here for you.

I am here to support women who have been continually doubting themselves and listening to other people’s opinions more than their own.

I am here to support women who have always been putting others’ needs and desires ahead of their own to put themselves first and feel good about themselves.

I am here to support those who have been dimming their light while looking to others for approval..

Has that ever made you feel disappointed in yourself for not doing that thing, or "less than" when you see others achieve goals you would have liked to achieve for yourself?

I know, I've been there, and you're not alone. 

So many women have been doing this, in one way or another!

I am here to support women who don’t feel like they can be themselves around others to be themselves and show up authentically.

I am here to support women creatives to keep doing their creative work.

I am here to support women who have ever experienced a narcissist to recover from that experience. (It can be a truly devastating kind!)

I am here to support women with a mother wound recover from that.

And I am here to support women with wounds from living in our Patriarchal society to recover from that and be empowered to live the life they truly desire. By doing so, I believe we make the world a better place for everyone, as well.
